Percent: Enabling Smarter Decision-Making with Big Data

Meng Su,Chairman & CEO, PercentMeng Su, Chairman & CEO
"As a leading provider of big data and intelligent scenario solutions in China, Percent enables enterprises to manage their data assets, and realize the data’s value in a highly efficient and convenient manner to make intelligent decisions,” says Meng Su, chairman and CEO of Percent.

As the volume of big data continues to accelerate across industries, companies need to extract value from a growing number of digital sources. Percent’s offerings have been designed to do exactly that. They offer a rich menu of industry application models, knowledge graphs, and artificial intelligence scenario solutions including a complete product line which accommodates an underlying big data operating system and intelligent cognition system based on NLP technology at the middle level with industry-specific decision system at the upper level.

Percent’s path to this kind of ‘cradle to grave’ vertical approach has evolved over the last nine years. It got its start in e-commerce, with a big data-based recommendation engine for e-commerce platforms and media websites, alongside building the most comprehensive consumer preference database in China. As big data began to permeate into traditional companies, Percent took the lead in exploring and integrating the offline market as well—by introducing data management and infographics to serve traditional industries.

Today, Percent’s products and solutions target a broad range of users: public security, government, fintech, integrated media, and intelligent manufacturing.

Percent enables enterprises to manage their data assets, and realize the data’s value in a highly efficient and convenient manner to make intelligent decisions

Its DeepFinder product helps public security organizations conduct digital investigations, provide comprehensive case investigation and analysis, crack down on illegal activities, and manage hidden risks. The DeepGovernor product is designed for government policy-making departments and enables the government to conduct optimal allocation of public resources, enhance the capabilities of public governance and decision-making, and improve decision efficiency. For business, Percent’s marketing-oriented DeepCreator assists companies to capture all key points in the dynamic customer journey and enables them to conduct real-time and scenario-based intelligent marketing featuring automation. For the digital publishing industry, DeepEditor offers omni-media intelligent services covering media asset management, robot writing, and communication influence analysis. For manufacturers and industrial IoT, DeepSensor is designed to help customers manage supply chains, forecast sales, monitor, and track risks.

Percent’s solutions have had a significant impact across various industries. When detailing results, Su mentions how Percent helped Changhong, a consumer electronics company, integrate its supply chain, research and development, production, and sales into a single big data platform. The result? A higher order fulfillment rate and inventory turnover leading to significant cost savings. Other success stories include public affairs, where Percent established a big data based-analysis, study, and decision platform for a public security organization in a Chinese province, helping the government body carry out data-driven digital investigations, speed up investigations, crack down on crimes, and conduct active prediction, warning, and crime prevention.

Moving forward, Percent aims to further its research and development into innovative big data and AI products. Meng Su believes that the ultimate goal of machine intelligence is to solve problems for mankind. What this means in practice is making decisions on behalf of human beings through applying a process of perception, cognition and analysis. Percent is moving forward in all three areas. For perception, Percent is adopting existing technologies in facial and speech recognition. For cognition, Percent is working on ways for AI systems to transfer multi-dimensional information and streaming data into knowledge that is machine-readable. This allows the system to identify, assess, and analyze problems, in order to make informed, data-driven decisions in real time.
